May has officially arrived, Sacramento is bursting with sunny skies, blooming trails, and plenty of dog-friendly events that’ll get those tails wagging. Whether you're looking to brunch with your pup, run for a cause or just connect with fellow dog lovers, this month has something for everyone.
And hey—don’t forget, Mother’s Day is May 11th. If you’re a dog mom, this is your month too. Celebrate the bond you’ve built with your pup (and maybe grab a mimosa while you’re at it). You deserve it.

May 10 – Barks and Brews Pop-Up at LogOff Brewing (Rancho Cordova)

Celebrate Dog Mom’s Day in style at LogOff Brewing, where craft beer meets dog swag and community vibes. This year, they’re releasing Pups and Suds—a tropical IPA for the humans, inspired by our four-legged besties.

May 26 – Barks & Brews 5K (William Land Park, Sacramento)
Race Start: 8:45 AM | William Land Park (Freeport Blvd & Sutterville Rd)
Wrap up Memorial Day weekend with this high-energy, dog-friendly 5K that benefits Canine Companions, a nonprofit providing service dogs to people with disabilities.
🏃♀️ Highlights include:
- 5K run/walk & 1-mile walk through scenic William Land Park
- Kids “Off the Leash” fun run (ages 10 & under)
- Dog registration includes a commemorative leash & bib
- Craft beer garden (one beer included for 21+)
- Games, food trucks, and live music post-race

For the Humans (But All About the Dogs 🐾)
Not every event this month is dog-friendly on site—but all of them support the wellbeing of animals in our community. If your pup has to stay home, don’t worry. These events still benefit them.
May 10 – Front Street Brewfest (Downtown Sacramento)
1–4 PM | 2127 Front Street
This 21+ block party features unlimited tastings, food trucks, live music, and access to the California Auto Museum—all while raising funds for the Front Street Animal Shelter.

May 10 – Sip, Savor, and Snuggle at Consumnes River Farm Winery (Galt)

This cozy wine event supports Fosters and Paws while offering adoptable dogs, live music, and some of the region’s best local pours.
Leashed dogs welcome, but mellow vibes encouraged.

May 13 – Paint Your Pet PAWty! (Midtown Sacramento)
6–9 PM | Acheson Wine Company
Paint your pup on canvas while sipping wine and supporting the Junebug Foundation, a nonprofit for foster animals. Includes all supplies, one drink, and expert instruction from Rachel’s Pet Portraits (Book your next Pawty now!)
May 16 – Legislative Rally for Animals (Capitol Park, Sacramento)
9 AM–1 PM | 10th & L Streets
This powerful rally highlights California’s shelter crisis and calls for legislative reform in spay/neuter access, breeding laws, and shelter funding.
