Professional Dog Training, Built for Real Life

Five stars, no question. I had gone through all the online help I could find, and while not necessarily wrong, it simply wasn't enough support for what I needed. Looking for an onsite trainer, I had some concern that Pragmatik Canines and David had only a few reviews, albeit all 5-star. I'm so glad that didn't stop me from engaging a consultation. In that, I found him to be honest, straight forward, and sincere without over promising. We've been working with David over the last months and that impression has been confirmed and strengthened. My five month old cavapoo had regressed with her basic training and I needed help learning how her environment and my misguided actions contributed to the problem. He identified her tendencies and taught me how to anticipate her actions well. That brought us on the right track, and through his daily visits and simple "homework," we've achieved a lot together. Again, no magic wand, but she quickly improved and we have the tools and insight for long term behavioral consistency. If you are seeking a partner and willing to put in your part in the process, I can't recommend David and Pragmatik more. He has a caring approach to my puppy, but holds her accountable and she reacts very positively to his presence and direction. He'll help you achieve your training goals as well!

David has been an incredible trainer and partner in helping us understand and support our dog, Chino. Chino is a shepherd mix with a very strong shepherd personality. He is incredibly loyal, highly intelligent, and naturally protective of our home and family. At the same time, he is socially anxious and thrives on structure and clear leadership. He has always had good manners, but we knew early on that we needed a trainer who could see Chino in his natural environment and help shape his behavior in real-life situations — not someone who would simply take him into a training facility and hand him back to us later. David has taught us dog psychology. He helped us learn how to read Chino’s body language, understand his triggers, and confidently correct unacceptable behaviors in a way that builds trust rather than fear. Most importantly, David taught us how to advocate for Chino so he feels safe and trusts our leadership. The progress we’ve seen in Chino over the past year has been truly amazing. He is more confident, more regulated, and better able to navigate situations that used to overwhelm him. Training with David feels collaborative, supportive, and tailored to Chino’s personality and needs. David has been working with Chino for almost a year now, and we continue to work with him because we believe exposure, consistency, and ongoing learning are key as Chino grows into adulthood. David was really helpful with our 6 year old golden doodle. He gave us great strategies that produced a timely outcomes and coached us for long term improvement. We highly recommend him!

David knows what he is doing. He has gone above and beyond with our 5 month old Indy. Raising two boys along with a new puppy was chaos every day! He has come in to save the day! David is a dog whisperer. He has such a calm presence and the dogs respond to that. I have three dogs. A dachshund, a jack russell mix and a golden retriever. My golden retriever is six months old and came from a rescue situation. He has anxiety and David is helping educate me on how to train him. He is very patient with Denver and always encouraging with me. I am seeing progress each day and if I run into a snag, David provides guidance and support. My two little dogs are barkers and I’ve never required them to have manners. David has taught me how to work with them and honestly it’s been so much easier than I expected. He’s shown me that I can have people enter my home without the little dogs going crazy! I would recommend David to anyone wanting to train their dog. I have used other trainers in the past and David is superior to anyone I’ve used. He is patient, kind and well educated in all things dog related. He is a natural with dogs!
